Emily Tristan Jones was raised in the arctic and prairies. She has an MFA from the University of Chicago where she won the new writers award. Her first full-length collection of poems is Buttercup, forthcoming from Verge Books. Pieces have been in The Puritan, EcoTheo, Shearsman, Vallum, Harvard Review, Dalhousie Review, Denver Quarterly, and other journals.
Emily also studied conceptual art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and formed Hermes Gallery in Nova Scotia. She has curated exhibitions for Dalhousie University and other venues. Her own pieces have been exhibited in NYC and distributed by Vtape. She now lives in Montreal where she facilitates youth poetry workshops for the Quebec Writers' Federation and teaches dyslexic children at Emily Literacy. She also runs Columba Poetry.
