Emily Tristan Jones was raised in the arctic and prairies. She is an alumna of the University of Chicago, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and Banff Centre for the Arts. Her first poetry book is Buttercup, which will soon be published by Chicago-based Verge Books. Pieces have been in The Puritan, EcoTheo, Shearsman, Harvard Review, Dalhousie Review, Denver Quarterly, and other journals.
Trained in visual art, she started Hermes Gallery in Nova Scotia, and has curated exhibitions for Dalhousie University and other venues. Her own pieces have been exhibited in NYC and distributed by Vtape. She now lives in Montreal where she teaches poetry to at-risk youth for the Quebec Writers' Federation. She also runs Columba.
