Emily Tristan Jones was raised on the tundra and prairies. She has an MFA from the University of Chicago, where she won the emerging poets award. Her first full-length collection of poems is Buttercup, forthcoming from Verge Books. Pieces have been published by The Puritan, EcoTheo, Shearsman, Vallum, Harvard Review, Dalhousie Review,  Denver Quarterly, Yolk, and other journals.

Emily also studied conceptualism and painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and then formed Hermes Gallery in Nova Scotia. She has curated exhibitions for Dalhousie University and other venues. Her films have been distributed by Vtape.

She lives in Montréal, where she facilitates poetry workshops for the Quebec Writers' Federation and runs Columba Poetry. She also teaches reading and writing to dyslexic children through Emily Literacy.
