Emily Tristan Jones was raised in the North and on the Prairies. Her first book of poems is Buttercup, forthcoming from Chicago-based poetry press Verge Books.  Pieces have been published in The Dalhousie Review, The Puritan, EcoTheo Review, Vallum, Yolk, Shearsman, Harvard Review, Denver Quarterly, and other journals.

Emily has an MFA from the University of Chicago. She also studied conceptualism and painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and formed Hermes Gallery in Nova Scotia. She has curated exhibitions for Dalhousie University and other venues. Her films have been distributed by Vtape.

She lives in Montréal, where she facilitates poetry workshops for the Quebec Writers' Federation and runs Columba Poetry. She also teaches reading and writing to dyslexic youth through Emily Literacy.
