Emily Tristan Jones was raised in the subarctic and prairies of Canada. She is an alumna of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Banff Centre, and University of Chicago where she won the new poet prize.
Her first book will soon be published by Chicago-based press, Verge. Pieces have been in The Puritan, EcoTheo, Harvard Review, Vallum, Denver Quarterly, Shearsman, and other journals. Trained in art, she started Hermes Gallery in Nova Scotia and has curated exhibitions for Dalhousie University and other venues. Her own pieces have been exhibited in NYC and distributed by Vtape. E lives in Montreal where she teaches poetry and runs Columba. She is currently writing with support from Canada Council for the Arts. |

Mary Dean Lee and I will read on June 20, 7pm at De Still in Montreal (531 Av. Duluth Est). I will read from my manuscript Buttercup. I am facilitating an online poetry workshop called Casting Spells for the Atwater Writers Exhibition, May 14. I will host and read on April 11, 7pm at Atwater Library in Westmount (1200 Av. Atwater).
